On September 29, the representative of the municipality of Elverum (Norway) Alf Kristians Enger visited the municipality of Ropaži.
Project coordinators of the municipality introduced guest with the activities implemented within the project "Integration-related events in Mucenieki" (project opening, Easter and Ligo holiday events). Also told about the near future plans regarding sports activities in the multifunctional center "Mucenieki" and discussed the plans for the upcoming experience exchange visit In Norway where working groups will take over the good practices of Norwegian experts in integration issues.
After the visit in the Ropaži parish administration Alfs Kristians Engers was introduced to the manager and organiser of Multifunctional Center of Ropaži parish and the head of the "Mucenieki" accommodation center for asylum seekers. They introduced how the work of the institutions are organised as well informed about the ongoing activities and the various events on a daily basis .
In the end, discussing mutual cooperation and the possibility of solving common problems in the issues of integration of asylum seekers and people who have acquired refugee status into society, the partners gained insights that show that successful solutions can be found.
The project "Integration-related activities in Muceniekos" takes place within the framework of the "Local development, poverty alleviation and cultural cooperation" program which is co-financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through EEA grants.
