Ārsts un astrologs Zaharius Stopius dzīvojis 16.gadsimtā pie Mazās Juglas upes, tagadējā Upesleju ciema apkārtnē. No Z. Stopija uzvārda cēlies Stopiņu novada vietvārds un Stopiņu novada ģerbonī izmantots Z.Stopija dzimtas ģerboņa elements - zvaigznes. Skulptūras autors – tēlnieks Uldis Sterģis, uzstādīts 2001. gadā.
The name of Stopiņi region is derived from the surname of Zaharius Stopius. He wasthe doctor and astrologer who lived in the 16th century by the River Little Jugla, in the vicinity of the present Upesleju village. The author of the sculpture is the sculptor Uldis Sterģis, installed in 2001.
