Construction of a sports stadium is actively taking place in Mucenieks village. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to construct an athletic runway, football field, hockey field, pedestrian pavements, lighting, make amenities by installing benches and rubbish urns.
Construction work is carried out by SIA “SC GROUP”.
The project is supported under the programme “Local development, poverty reduction and cultural cooperation” co-financed by Islande, Liechtenstein and Norway through EEA grants under the predefined project “integration-related activities in Mucenieks” (No LV-LOCALDEV-0007). The total cost of the works is EUR 708 924.54, of which EUR 500 000.00 is EEA grant financing, EUR 208 924.54 is municipal financing.
The redevelopment of Mucenieki Stadium is one of the activities of the project “Integration-related activities in Mucenieki”. A place where through health promotion and sports activities (football lessons, sports days, health day, etc.) will meet local residents with asylum seekers.
Project goal is to strengthen integration activities in Mucenieki and the related Reception Centre for Asylum Seekers, promoting multicultural dialogue and closer cooperation between the municipality's communities by providing sports and leisure facilities.
